On only a few days each year are conditions considered to be so perfect that the buds for this wonderful white tea can be harvested. Silver Needle is the finest and rarest of the white teas with a sweet, mellow taste and a glorious, light yellow colour. After picking by moonlight just before dawn, the downy buds are rolled into individual needles which unfurl in the pot. White teas are the least processed with the leaves simply allowed to be air dried; low in caffeine and high in healthy anti-oxidants.

Serving tips: Take three minutes of time to achieve perfection. Use one teaspoon of leaves per person and add freshly drawn water which is hot but not boiling – around 70 degrees centigrade. Drink without milk.

Style: Light China white tea
Enjoy it: as a reminder that special things sometimes do grow on trees.

A wonderfully delicate and sensuous experience; this exquisite blend combines China Yunnan green tea with layers of purest rose petals to produce a light and sumptuous cup. Take three minutes of time to achieve perfection. Use one teaspoon per person and add freshly drawn water which is just off the boil – around 80 degrees centigrade. Green tea is too delicate for milk.

Our vanilla cream is a rich blend of Sri Lankan black tea and natural vanilla flavour which provides a luxuriant alternative to more traditional black teas.

In years gone by Butler’s Wharf – home of teapod teahouse at Tower Bridge – was at the centre of the international tea trade and fast clippers would dock with speciality teas and spices from all over the world. It was heavy work loading and unloading the ship’s cargoes and a strong brew of “Rosy Lee” – cockney rhyming slang for tea – was essential to keep the spirits high. Our Strong Brew is a tribute to the east end stevedores of Butler’s Wharf – a heady, gutsy blend of teas from Assam and Kenya where it is grown by co-operative farmers who are famed for providing the best tea in East Africa.

Serving tips:
Take four minutes of time to achieve perfection. Use a good teaspoon of tea per person and add freshly drawn boiling water. Enjoy with or without milk.
