8 cups a day – a real tonic!
A new report confirms what we have been saying for ages – drinking loose leaf tea carries “significant health benefits” and can help fight heart disease and boost brain power.
The new report is a major review of 47 previously published studies and confirms that drinks that contain caffeine – such as tea and coffee – provide real health benefits. In the past it has always been assumed that caffeine was potentially bad for you. Too much probably is – but moderate amounts can do you good.
It recommends people should drink up to 8 cups of tea a day – or 4 cups of coffee – to benefit from lower risk of heart attack and lower cholesterol.
teapod tea fact: Black teas contain about half the caffeine of coffee. Green and white teas contain very little caffeine. Fruit and herbal teas contain no caffeine.
